Structured conference sections

A grid of tracks and times that you fill with talks ahead of the event. Attendees follow it rather than claim slots.

For Organizers
Adding a time row to a structured conference builder, then giving one cell its own time.

What attendees see

A structured conference section looks like an unconference grid, with tracks across the top and times down the side. The difference is that you place every talk yourself ahead of time, and empty slots can't be claimed.

Set one up

  1. Choose Add a section and pick Structured conference.
  2. Set the section's start and end times and a talk length.
  3. Add tracks if the day has none yet.
  4. Choose Create section, then open it in Prepare to fill it in.

Build the grid

In Prepare, the section shows one card per time row with a cell per track. Choose Place a talk in a cell to put a talk there, and drag talks between cells to move them.

Use Add at the bottom to add more times, with how many and how long. Each row sets the time for every track at once. If one track needs a different time, change that cell on its own and it splits out of the row.

A time that still has a talk placed in it can't be removed. Move or remove the talk first.
