Building the schedule
How a day is laid out as a stack of sections, and how to add, edit, move and remove them.
Days are made of sections
Each day of your event is a stack of sections, one after another down the day. A section is a block of time with a type: an unconference, a structured conference, a break, a hackathon, or a portfolio review.
Sections never overlap. One ends before the next begins, and the time rail down the left of the schedule shows when each one starts. You can mix types freely, like two unconference blocks either side of lunch.
Where you build it
Open your event and choose Prepare. You'll see the schedule exactly as attendees will, with the organizer controls switched on.
Add a section
- On the day you want, choose Add a section at the bottom of the schedule.
- Pick the section type.
- Set when it starts and ends. The times start just after the day's last section, so it won't overlap anything already there.
- Fill in anything that type asks for, like a talk length and tracks, or the reviewers for a portfolio review.
- Choose Create section.
Each section type has its own guide, linked below, that covers what it shows attendees and how to set it up.
Edit, move or remove a section
Every section has an Actions button on the time rail beside it, with Edit section and Delete section. Some types also put a cog in their own header that does the same.
Edit section is where you change its title, description and times. Moving a section's times moves it in the day, and the schedule reorders itself to match.
When the day starts
Once a day's doors open, its sections lock. You can still rename them and edit their descriptions, but you can't move their times or delete them, because attendees are reading that schedule.
Reset schedule on the event's Schedule tab clears every section so you can start over. It removes everything inside them too, including bookings in a portfolio review, so use it before people start signing up.
