Portfolio review sections
One or more reviewers side by side, each with short appointments attendees book to get feedback on their work.
How it works
A portfolio review section runs reviewers side by side, the way an unconference runs tracks. Each reviewer gets a column, and the section's time is split into short appointments in every column.
Attendees pick a reviewer and a time and book it. On a digital or hybrid event they can also share a link to their portfolio, or upload a PDF or image, for the reviewer to look at.
Set one up
- Choose Add a section and pick Portfolio review.
- Set the section's start and end times and the appointment length.
- Add your reviewers' emails, one per reviewer. Anyone with an account is added straight away; anyone else gets an email inviting them.
- Choose Create section.
Reviewers
Open the section's editor to manage reviewers. Each one has a card where you can add a headline, like Design Director at Acme, and a meeting link for a digital or hybrid event.
A new reviewer isn't shown publicly until you turn on Show this reviewer publicly. That lets you line people up before announcing them. Their appointments open for booking once they're shown and the Bookings open time, if you set one, has passed.
You can hand a reviewer's appointments to someone else, and their bookings stay put. You can only remove a reviewer once nobody is booked with them.
Appointments
Appointment length, the gap between appointments, when bookings open, and when booking stops before each appointment apply to every reviewer in the section. Changing the length or gap rebuilds the open appointments. Booked ones keep their times.
Under each reviewer you can block a time, like their own coffee break, or cancel a booking. The person who booked is told.
You can't delete a portfolio review section while anyone is booked. Cancel the bookings first, so each person is told.
What attendees see and do
On the schedule, reviewers are across the top and times down the side. Choosing an open time opens it in a box to book. Booked times just say Booked, without anyone's name.
Booking needs a ticket. Someone can book one time with each reviewer, but never two at the same time. They can change what they've shared, or cancel, until the appointment starts.
Anyone with bookings sees a Your reviews list above the schedule.
What reviewers see
A reviewer sees You're reviewing in this block above the schedule, with who's next and a link to their queue. The queue lists everyone booked with them, what they'd like feedback on, and anything they've shared. Reviewers only ever see their own bookings.
Who gets told what
When someone books, the person booking gets a confirmation with a calendar file and the reviewer gets an email with a link to their queue. Organizers see every booking and change in the event's activity.
On the morning of the block, each reviewer gets their agenda for the day. The person booked gets a reminder 30 minutes before their review, and the reviewer gets an up next 5 minutes before.
