Paying by invoice with QuickBooks

Let sponsors and venue clients pay by a QuickBooks invoice instead of a card checkout.

For Organizers Venues Sponsors

When to use it

Many sponsors and businesses booking a venue need an invoice with payment terms rather than a card form. If your event group or venue has QuickBooks connected, they can ask for one.

What the payer does

  1. Open the approved sponsorship or venue booking.
  2. Choose Pay by invoice instead of paying by card.
  3. QuickBooks emails the invoice. It's due in 30 days.
  4. Pay it from the invoice email by card or bank transfer, if the business accepts online payment.

What happens next

When QuickBooks records the invoice as fully paid, Tidy Events marks the sponsorship or booking paid. A sponsorship then appears on the event and the sponsor gets a receipt, just like a card payment.

If the payer settles another way, such as a mailed check, record the payment against the invoice in QuickBooks and Tidy Events will pick it up.

Online payment from the invoice email needs QuickBooks Payments turned on for the company. Without it, the invoice can still be paid offline and recorded in QuickBooks.
