Connecting QuickBooks

Connect your QuickBooks Online company so sponsors and venue clients can pay by invoice.

For Organizers Venues

What connecting does

Connecting lets Tidy Events create invoices in your QuickBooks Online company and ask QuickBooks to email them. It doesn't move your Stripe sales into QuickBooks; see Syncing Stripe with QuickBooks for that.

Invoices are created under a Sponsorship or Venue booking item, which Tidy Events adds to your products and services the first time it's needed, using your first income account. You can change that account in QuickBooks.

Connect

Event groups can connect QuickBooks once one of their events is on a plan that includes it. Venues can always connect, and a booking can be paid by invoice when the group booking it has an event on such a plan.

  1. Event groups: open the group's Billing tab. Venues: open the venue's Payments tab.
  2. In the QuickBooks card, choose Connect QuickBooks.
  3. Sign in to Intuit and pick the company to connect.

Disconnect

Choose Disconnect in the same card. Tidy Events first records any invoices that were paid, then voids the open ones so their emailed links stop working and payers can pay by card instead. An invoice that is only part paid can't be voided, so settle it in QuickBooks before disconnecting.
